Tonight I picked up some grass fed brisket which is now braising away in the oven for tacos. As I was juicing a lime into the braising liquid, I heard a SNAP! that was loud enough to make my ears ring, and the handle fell right off my trusty citrus squeezer. RIP citrus squeezer, 2013(?) - 2017.

Looks like you need to make a new one out of cro-moly steel torch-welded together and seasoned with sesame or corn oil.

I’m not sure trusty is the word I’d use to describe it...

I’ve broken that same one in the same place.

Wish there were a way to get you the one we have, if you’d like a barely-used replacement
I read about which brand was supposed to be the ne-plus-ultra and scrambled around to find one (don’t even remember the name now), then read on a cooking how-to page (Cook’s Country) that slicing a lemon or lime in half the short way, so you get two sort of round halves, then mashing the pulp with a fork right there in the rind gives the most/best yield of juice...which seems to be true.
The juicer has been in the drawer ever since, used, like, once :(
Best wishes with the recipe tho

Clearly, you don’t know your own strength.

I’ve done the fork thing, but damn if the squeezer isn’t convenient.

Understood
Checked just now and the one Cook’s recommended right before they pulled the fork headfake was Amco, it’s yellow enamel and seems pretty rugged. If that’s of any help

The fiancé and I are registered for a juicer attachment for the kitchen aid. If you want to buy me it I’ll send a link Hahaha

Did you read the instructions? Did it mention not using a three-foot cheater bar?
